Featuring Rutanya Alda(The Deer Hunter/Mommie Dearest), Caitlin O'Heaney (Broadway w/Katherine Hepburn), June Stein(Romance and Cigarettes, Illuminata), Jessica Eleanor Grant (As the World Turns), Roger Hendricks Roger H. Simon(Wall Street The Money Never Sleeps), James Williams (The Brothers Karamazov, Part 1) and James Leaf. Marty Finklestein, an off, off, off, off Broadway director has inherited a portrait by Thomas Sully of an early American Jewish ancestor. A wealthy cousin, Toddy, and his eccentric and pretentious wife Helen, extend a dinner invitation in which they seek to buy the portrait from their poor “starving artist” relation, Marty. Toddy also extends the invitation to his conniving brother Henry and Henry's hypochondriac wife Agnes in a plot to obtain their related portrait. Over pate, crepes and antics by the French maid, Honore, high notes from Marty’s opera singer wife, and pretentions about their Jewish roots, a wager is made between the brothers as to who will get Marty’s portrait, and possibly the related portrait of the other brother.
