From the bold sounds of the pipes and drums, and the harmonious blending of brass, strings and percussion, to the poetic and lyrical words that complement them, The Pipes of Christmas is a festival for the soul.

The Pipes of Christmas returns for its 15th joyous season with two performances on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 and 7 PM. The concert features the music of Christmas accompanied by a selection of readings taken the Celtic literature of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, and Scripture.

Proceeds from the concert support music scholarships with leading educational institutions offering Celtic music. Featured performers include, James Robinson from the film "Braveheart," Scottish Country Dance trio - Local Hero, the Solid Brass ensemble, harpist Jennifer Port of Golspie, Scotland and the Kevin Ray Blandford Memorial Pipe Band of Redlands, CA.

The 2013 concert will also feature the WORLD PREMIERE of a new composition dedicated to the birth of HRH The Prince of Cambridge.

The concerts are made possible by generous gifts from Edinburgh Napier University, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Capital Markets and the Grand Summit Hotel.
