New Chamber Ballet closes its 2012/13 season with a program of four ballets with live music on violin and piano:

A new work bringing together a singer, a dancer and two instrumentalists, set to Morton Feldman's Voice, Violin and Piano,

In the Parlour, a trio (set to a violin sonata by Mozart) in which "motifs of secrecy, evasion and sheer nosiness weave into the dance which evolves with some technically demanding solo passages." (Philip Gardner, Oberon's Grove)

The Other Woman, a minimalist portrayal of a menage-a-trois, set to the innocent three-part counterpoint of Bach's violin sonata in B Minor.

The revival of In a Simple Black Dress, which inventively mixes on- and off-pointe dancing in a solo inspired by Pierre Boulez' virtuoso violin study Anthèmes.

Performers include Sarah Atkins, Elizabeth Brown, Holly Curran, Amber Neff, and Charlotte Mundy. The music will be played live by Doori Na (violin) and Melody Fader (piano).

"It's heartening to see work so focused on the meeting of dance and music." -Alastair Macaulay, The New York Times
