Andy@62, is a new play by Michelangelo Alasa'. This thrilling part-tour, part-sit-down theatrical event offers an uncanny glance into the legacies of three icons-Frida Kahlo, Marilyn Monroe, and Marlene Dietrich.

In 1969, Andy Warhol rented out the theater at 62 East 4th Street to present a series of gay porn films under the title, Andy's Boys To Adore Galore. During the summer of the first moon landing, the Woodstock Festival, the death of Judy Garland, and the Stonewall Rebellion, Michelangelo Alasa' attended one of the these screenings and found himself thrust into a world he had never experienced before.

Nearly 45 years later, Andy@62 comes to haunt those same halls of 62 East 4th Street with a unflinching, personal look at the lives, loves, and careers of Kahlo, Monroe, and Dietrich - three seminal, artistic muses whose mystique continues to befuddle generation after generation.

Andy/Alasa' dares to take on these women in a humorous, yet moving exploration of fame, art, life, and death. Andy@62 is narrated through the halls of 62 East 4th Street and in the main theater, which is now home to Alasa's theater company, DMAC. This performance pays homage to Kahlo, Monroe, and Dietrich, as well as to Mr. Warhol, whose fearless portrayals of celebrity have yet to be matched.

The cast of Andy@62 features Antonio Minino, Alexandra Perlwitz, Reet Roos Varnik, and Michelangelo Alasa'.

So you think you know all there is to know about these icons? Think again. Come follow them around our spaces and be prepared to rethink your views on them.
