Limited 16 Week Engagement! In a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, three underpaid employees mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35-millimeter film projectors in the state. Their tiny battles and not-so-tiny heartbreaks play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen. With keen insight and a finely-tuned comic eye, The Flick is a hilarious and heart-rending cry for authenticity in a fast-changing world.
“Annie Baker’s exquisite play, acted by a perfect cast, won my heart. One of the freshest and most talented dramatists to emerge in the past decade.” - Charles Isherwood, The New York Times “The most spellbinding theater this year. ‘The Flick’ may be the best argument anyone has yet made for the continued necessity and profound uniqueness of the theater.” - Jesse Green, New York Magazine

The private diaries and papers of James G. McDonald reveal through personal observation and colorful description how closely todays Israeli-Arab struggles are a legacy of little-known and confidential events of the years preceding Israels formation. McDonald was a member of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, charged with finding solutions to both the problems of Jewish refugees at the end of World War II and to the resolution of British Mandate Palestine. A panel of historians including McDonalds daughter provide personal as well as analytical context for these deliberations. With Richard Breitman, Norman J. W. Goda, Severin Hochberg, Barbara McDonald Stewart and Ronald Zweig.
