Empire Stage Presents the next installment of cabaret du jour with South Florida Entertainer David Meulemans, and Chicagos Kevin Wood in a double bill. Wood will perform his one man show “Sentimental Journeys: A Cabaret Travelogue,” inviting you to join him on a cabaret staycation as he leads you on a world-wide tour through song and patter. Meulemans will preview his new show “Lucky to Be Me” opening in New York Citys Metropolitan Room in May, 2015. Meulemans show is an uplifting look at living life on lifes terms, with laughter, love and gratitude. Both artists bring their love of the American Songbook, extensive stage experience, and a joy for entertaining to Empire Stage with accompanist Jan Hinton.

Festival founder Veronica Caicedo is elated to announce that as “The ONE Festival” reaches this most important milestone of a decade of presenting the most innovative and dynamic solo artists from New York and around the world. “The ONE Festival” has been graciously invited to join the roster of theatrical events at the famed Pregones/PRTT Theater Off-Broadway in Manhattans midtown theater district. The Partnership amongst Caicedo Productions Corp, Pregones/PRTT and Teatro Circulo is historic in that it brings together the innovative multicultural programing that Ms. Caicedo is well known and respected for.

The festival seeks and presents the best New York, National and international talent both writers and performers of Solo works. The participants perform a minimum of two times during the course of six days every evening. A block of no less than two performances showcases their work with the audience voting for their favorite piece at the conclusion of the evening. At the conclusion of the six days of presentations the piece that has garnered the most votes is declared “THE ONE FESTIVAL” winner and is awarded a cash prize of up to $1,500 dollars as well as a full theatrical workshop production of their piece in New York City.

“The ONE Festival” was designed as a place for new and emerging playwrights and performers to showcase their stories, and encourage intercultural understanding, in the most diverse, dynamic and multi-ethnic city in the world. “The ONE Festival” is open to ALL emerging writers/performers, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds.

The Festivals beauty is demonstrating the creative talent from all walks of life, added Veronica Caicedo, the festivals CEO/Founder and an accomplished independent filmmaker and director/producer in theater.
