"Women’s Work V" will be The Sackett Group’s next production during its first season at the Brooklyn Music School Playhouse. This festival of one-act plays showcases five of NYC’s emerging female directors. The festival opens on October 27, 2005 and closes on November 20, 2005. The six one-act plays will be divided into two groups.

Group A will perform from October 27th through November 6th and includes: "Sisters" by Cherie Vogelstein, directed by Alexandra Hastings (two sisters work out their relationship during a match at the U.S. Open); and "The Pirate Queen: The Trial of Mary Reade," written and directed by Joan Kane (the life and times of a woman pirate in the 1700s).

Group B will perform from November 10th through November 19th and includes: the World Premiere of "The Stages of Grief" by Emily Weiss, directed by Marlo Hunter (a role reversal comedy about how a mother and daughter deal with the father’s death); "Beautiful Hills of Brooklyn" by Ellen Cassedy, directed by Amy Feinberg (extrapolated from the diary of a retired woman living in Flatbush in the 1970’s); and "Joe and Stew’s Theatre of Brotherly Love and Financial Success" by Jacquelyn Reingold, directed by Portia Krieger (two cockroaches who survive a nuclear blast and their plans for the theater they inhabit).

Performances will be at the Brooklyn Music School Playhouse, 126 St. Felix Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217. Tickets for all performances are $19. The performance schedule is: Thursday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m.; Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
