For over four decades, Saeko Ichinohe Dance Company has celebrated the fusion of Eastern and Western tradition and innovation.

In this performance, the company will perform excerpts of two popular dance pieces inspired by the ukiyoe master Utamaro, and the woodblock print artist Shiko Munakata.

Guest performer, Toshinori Hamada will showcase his contemporary interpretation of the Noh Theater work Aoi no Ue (Lady Aoi) with Kristina Berger and Saeko Ichinohe.

Transmigration, a world premiere, concludes the evening featuring projected images by abstract expressionist Ansei Uchima to captivating music by contemporary composer, Hifumi Shimoyama.
