...What happens to a dreamer deferred?...

DREAMers is a work of investigative theater being developed as part of The Civilians’ Investigative Theater Education Program in Brooklyn, NY exploring stories from the young undocumented immigrants of America. With the Obama administration’s recent implementation of a deferred action program, which would grant certain immigrants work permits, these young people occupy a fragile and tumultuous place in America’s social fabric. The words in this show are from the DREAMers of America- young adults grappling for a place in society and a sense of belonging.

Undocumented and unafraid, these are the voices of a people coming out of the shadows and into the light.
