Welcome the new patient to the psychiatric ward of a decaying hospital in the Soviet Union. . . Is he a spy? Is he mad? Is he a victim? Is he all of the above? In less than five years, he will make history: one way or another.
An engaging and thought-provoking dark journey into the turbulent life of a so-called "lone gunman." Award winning director and playwright Bill Fountain explores a series of pivotal moments in the life of a man history calls the assassin, told in the context of his ill fated attempt to defect to the Soviet Union. But in the twisted maze of logic, madness and contradictions, what is the truth? Is our hero the man who kills a king? Is he someone else altogether and what has all of this to do with how they make bread? As we follow Hidell through the broken mirrors of a wonderland gone bad, we discover there is a great deal more going on than meets the eye.
