For the 2009 Blackout Film Festival, we called on filmmakers to make short films that would explore The Great Recession as a story, a theme, a backdrop, or simply an inspirational force. Filmmakers of all backgrounds, industries, ages, and levels of expertise responded to tell their stories through a variety of genres - from documentary to animated short. The festival is about reflecting upon a moment in time and rallying the creation of art.
