Bohemian Archaeology Productions presents
Time Flies and Others By Ives
Saturday, May 26, 2007 through Monday, July 09, 2007
A fast-paced evening featuring 6 hilarious short plays by DAVID IVES ("All In The Timing")!
Length: 1 hr 30 mins Intermission: None Seating: General Admission You choose your seats when you get to the theater.
“TIME FLIES AND OTHERS BY IVES” showcases the wit and whimsy of master wordsmith DAVID IVES by featuring six of his most side-splitting short plays centered around the general theme of Time! Ranging from the story of two lonely mayflies who discover from a TV nature program that their entire lifespan is only one day to a Masterpiece Theatre-style murder mystery in which time reverses itself to two blue collar Mesopotamians who are pressed to finish building the Tower Of Babel, “TIME FLIES AND OTHERS BY IVES” is a breezy, funny peek into the mind of one of America’s foremost playwrights. The evening includes Time Flies, Degas C’est Moi and Dr. Fritz Or The Forces Of Light (from off-Broadway’s “Mere Mortals and Others”) as well as Babel’s In Arms and The Mystery at Twicknam Vicarage (from Philadelphia Theatre Company’s “Lives Of The Saints”) and Arabian Nights, which premiered at the Humana Festival in 2000. Featured in the cast: DAVID ARSENAULT, AMY BRODER, JORDAN COUGHTRY, NATHAN KAUFMAN, JORDANA KRITZER, DAVID LEDOUX, EMILY MADISON, COLLIN MACKENZIE SMITH and JESSICA MORRIS
DAVID IVES was born in Chicago and educated at Northwestern University and Yale School of Drama. Winner of the Outer Critics Circle’s John Gassner Playwriting Award and the Young Playwrights’ George and Elisabeth Marton Playwriting Award, David Ives’ plays include "All in the Timing" (Drama Desk nomination), "Don Juan in Chicago," "Long Ago and Far Away," "Land of Cockaigne" and "English Made Stupid." He has also adapted numerous musicals for City Center’s Encores! series, including "The Pajama Game," "Do Re Mi" and "Wonderful Town."
***Please note that the Laurie Beechman Theatre charges patrons a $15 food/drink minimum which the purchase of a ticket to this production does not cover.*** |
