Sonnet Rep explores Shakespeare's beautiful and haunting masterpiece, The Tempest, as a modernist allegory about personal and environmental stewardship.

Prospero's island becomes a magical but dwindling landscape scarred by years of human mistreatment while the magician himself is seen as a powerful figure capable of both great goodness and great destruction.
The production will feature projections, masks, original music, and a stripped-down cast of seven actors playing all the roles. Director Neal Freeman brings his experience with epic outdoor puppet shows (Open Space Arts) and multimedia opera (Ridge Theater) to the production, as well as a resume that includes over a dozen Shakespeare productions and other classical pieces.
