Once upon a Tempest…

On a magical Island floating somewhere beyond the sea, a powerful and vengeful sorcerer conjures a storm and sets into motion this exciting tale of fantasy, romance, revenge, and forgiveness. Original songs by Daniel Neiden, and a book written by Ryan Knowles with Daniel Neiden, are built around an original concept by Tony award-winning legend, Thomas Meehan (The Producers, Hairspray, Annie, Young Frankenstein).

Prospero, now a sorcerer and king of the Island, was once the Duke of Milan. Betrayed by his brother and the King of Naples, Prospero was overthrown and banished out to sea with his daughter, Miranda, never to be heard from again.

Now. seven years later, having gained the powers of magic and a hunger for vengeance, Prospero brings his enemies to the Island. With the help of his spirit sidekick, Ariel, Prospero confronts his villains and attempts to find true love for his daughter, all the while battling a mischievous monster of the Isle named Caliban.

Based on William Shakespeare’s play, "The Tempest" offers comic and tragic storytelling aided by thrilling songs and a script that is faithful to the original.
