Katharsis Theater Company presents
The Polish Play
Saturday, January 13, 2007 through Saturday, February 17, 2007

The Polish Play takes the texts of Macbeth by William Shakespeare and Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry and fuses them together to tell the story of Père Ubu's bloody ascension to the throne of Poland, his reign of terror and his disgraceful fall from power.

Length: 1 hr 50 mins
Intermission: Yes
Seating: General Admission
You choose your seats when you get to the theater.

In The Polish Play, the idiot-tyrant Père Ubu, encouraged by his wife and the Three Weird Sisters, ascends the throne of Poland by slaughtering the meek King Wenceslas. Simultaneously a dark tragedy, a broad satire, and an absurdly gruesome Grand Guignol, The Polish Play offers one of Western theater’s greatest stories as you’ve never seen it before.
