LIFEbeat -- the Music Industry Fights AIDS brings a bit of the Big Easy to the Big Apple when they present MANHATTAN MARDI GRAS on Tuesday, February 28 at The Roxy in Chelsea. This one night only special event will benefit NO / AIDS Task Force, a New Orleans based AIDS service organization that was virtually wiped out by hurricane Katrina.

In addition to throngs of partygoers decked out in Mardi Gras beads and costumes, the party will feature a rotating roster of New York's top DJs, including Bill Coleman, Brenda Black, and Chip Duckett. Cable access queen Robin Byrd and adult film king Michael Lucas will be crowned King & Queen of Mardi Gras. The talent roster will include a bevy of gorgeous go-go girls and boys, some of New York’s hottest club acts including The Glamazons, Daisy Spurs, GrooveHoops, Naked Boys Singing, Billionaires for Bush and The Dazzle Dancers, and a roster of nationally recognized performers -- including live sets by M.C. Hammer (the 90’s icon whose hits include “U Can’t Touch This” and “2Legit 2 Quit”) and disco diva Barbar Tucker. Reichen Lehmkuhl (winner of "The Amazing Race") will host.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, NO/AIDS Task Force is struggling to reopen their doors to provide services anyone infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. NO/AIDS faces the daunting tasks of continuing to serve clients scattered throughout the country and to rebuild in the wake of Katrina. One of their most important fund raisers, NO/AIDS Walk was scheduled to take place on Sept. 25 and had to be canceled. In past years that event has brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars. For more information visit www.noaidstaskforce.com.

Doors open at 10pm with dancing until 2am. The Roxy is located at 515 W 18th Street at 10th Avenue in Manhattan. Tickets are $20 in advance/ $25 at the door. Mardi Gras beads and masks will be available for sale inside the club. You must be 21+ with a valid government issued ID to enter. For more info visit www.SpinCycleNYC.com
