Krankenhaus Blues
Thursday, October 05, 2006 through Sunday, November 05, 2006
“Forman’s astonishingly fresh script...makes ‘Krankenhaus Blues’ more than a theatrical gem. It’s also a theatrical rarity...”
Amy Krivohlavek, Off Off Broadway Online Journal
Length: 1 hr 10 mins Intermission: None Seating: General Admission You choose your seats when you get to the theater.
Visible Theatre's frightening, funny and surreal play Krankenhaus Blues by Sam Forman, is about disability issues, genocide and the grim realities of show business. The play moves seamlessly between 1930’s Berlin and present day NYC, as the characters struggle to connect with each other and to confront their existentially bleak surroundings.
“.(Krankenhaus Blues is) a comedic romp through the playwrights psyche. Set in a dreamscape. Freely mixing up time, actual history, personal history, gripes, obsessions, puzzlements, playful silliness, music, with streaks of underlying seriousness!” - Director, Donna Mitchell
Featuring: Christine Bruno*, Bill Green, Joe Sims
Directed by Donna Mitchell Violin music composed and performed by Helen Yee Lighting Design by Paul A. Jepson Set and Costume Design by Kimi Maeda Stage Manager: Emily Alexander-Wilmeth Managing Producer: Angela DeMatteo Artistic Director and Executive Producer: Krista Smith
