Synopsis

Jeet draws linkages between illiteracy, social degradation and ‘witch branding’. It reveals how caste hegemony, increasing assertion by women, dependence on Ojhas in absence of any medical support systems and rejection of sexual advances lead to this horrifying practice against women. The film emphasizes the role of education to fight against this sheer cruelty. The film is a journey of the protagonist Prakash who against all odds is determined to expose the reality behind ‘Witch Branding’. ‘Jeet’ is a victory for the forces, which stand for scientific temper. It’s a victory of logic over superstition, literacy over ignorance and light over darkness.
