Michael Chekhov Theatre Company presents
The God Of Hell
Sunday, January 14, 2007 through Sunday, February 11, 2007
Length: 1 hr 20 mins Intermission: None Seating: General Admission You choose your seats when you get to the theater.
Directed by Jeffrey Stanley.
In Sam Shepard's timely new play, a literally electrifying and diabolical political comedy, Emma and Frank are a pair of Wisconsin dairy farmers who hide their spark-ejecting friend Haynes, on the lamb from a top-secret research lab, in their basement. All goes glowingly until government agent Welch, posing as a salesman of patriotic memorabilia, comes to snoop and dole out torture and justice for all. The God of Hell is Shepard's reaction to the War on Terror, a wickedly dark farce in the vein of Joe Orton.
