Rattlestick continues its 14th anniversary season with the World Premiere of Geometry of Fire, a new drama by Stephen Belber, directed by Lucie Tiberghien (The Pavilion). Performances begin Saturday, November 15th, 2008. The show will run through Sunday, December 14, 2008. In Geometry of Fire, Stephen Belber’s newest work, we find an investment banker-turned-Marine-sniper recently returned from Iraq and a Saudi-American who’s just looking for a little fun. In any other world, these two guys would be best friends. But when their lives collide in this one, each is forced to survive on the fly. Based on a true story. Geometry of Fire had a developmental production at New York Stage & Film in July 2007.

The cast of Geometry of Fire includes Jeffrey DeMunn (Stuff Happens, "The Green Mile"), Donnie Keshawarz (Tarzan, Taboo), Jennifer Mudge (Fault Lines, The Pavilion) and Kevin O’Donnell (Off Broadway debut). The creative team is comprised of Robin Vest (sets), Anne Kennedy (costumes), Peter West (lights), Broken Chord Collective (sound), Mary Robinette Kowal (props), Rick Sordelet (fight choreography) and Brian Smallwood (technical director).

Geometry of Fire has just been EXTENDED to December 21!!

In addition, The theater has also announced a series of post-performance talk backs to be moderated by Iraqi war veterans and officials from the Manhattan Vet Center. These discussions, which will include the cast and creative team, will serve as an open forum to discuss the socially relevant aspects of the play and how they are not only vital to our current climate, but also the future.

The scheduled talk backs are as follows:

Wednesday, December 10th – Wendy Katz, PhD, Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom Readjustment Services (VA New York Harbor Health System)

Sunday, December 14th – Joanne Izzo, psychiatric social worker (VA New York Harbor Health System) and 4 Iraqi vets from Gateway Community College (New Haven, CT)

Wednesday, December 17th – Mariel Sosa, GWoT (Global War on Terrorism) Outreach (Manhattan Vet Center Program) and 2-tour Iraqi Veteran

Thursday, December 18th – Todd Owens, former Marine sniper, Operation Iraqi Freedom
