The New York Times wrote, "Many, many pleasures! Rich Orloff's witty, unpredictable script fends off pity and preachiness with a daffy sense of humor."

Back Stage gave it a critic's pick and wrote, "Rich Orloff packs a lot of agile humor into FUNNY AS A CRUTCH. The show also resonates with meaningful authenticity while generating its laughs. An engaging and talented cast demonstrate versatility and genuine comic flair."

nytheatre.com called it "a unique theatrical experience. Five terrific actors. FUNNY AS A CRUTCH packs in about a dozen laughs per square foot."

FUNNY AS A CRUTCH takes a satiric look at the concept of disability - how it's perceived and what we project onto it. Performed by an ensemble of versatile comedic actors with disabilities, this comedy makes fun of stereotypes, icons, assumptions and prejudices, both towards and within the disabled community.

Written by Rich Orloff and directed by Jeffrey C. Wolf. Starring Mary Theresa Archbold, Shannon DeVido, Stephen Jutras, Gregg Mozgala and Frank Senger.

The theater is accessible and so are the jokes.

If you need wheelchair seating, please inform us at foolishplays@gmail.com after purchasing your ticket.
