WORKING MAN'S CLOTHES PRODUCTIONS (winner of 6 NYIT Awards for "To Nineveh: A Modern Miracle Play"), THE THURSDAY PROBLEM ("Dread Awakening" at the 45th Street Theatre), and JEFFREY SCHULMAN (Keith Reddin’s "Brutality of Fact" at Urban Stages) are proud to present FUCKPLAYS, a voyeuristic journey through eight playwrights’ most private places and a sincere examination of our most basic carnal desires.

From American Apparel ads to "Sex and the City," we live in a world where consumer marketing runs by the dictum: Sex sells! But in a society where explicit sex and pornography have veered ever closer to the mainstream, do we have a more unrealistic view of sex than ever before? Over sixty playwrights from across the country submitted plays in response to that question, which were painstakingly narrowed down to the eight best--a provocative cross-section encompassing fantasy, fetishism, humor, myth, submission, voyeurism, violence, and love.

FUCKPLAYS features eight sexually-charged new plays written by some of NYC’s hottest emerging playwrights: Obie Award-winner KYLE JARROW ("A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant"), NYIT Award-winner BEKAH BRUNSTETTER ("To Nineveh: A Modern Miracle Play"), ERIC SANDERS ("Dread Awakening"), New School University MFA Playwright WILLIAM CHARLES MENY ("The Discomposers"), Columbia University MFA Playwright JOSHUA HILL ("The Impotence of Being Ernest"), and mythic fiction writer CASEY WIMPEE ("Bloody Elephants"), coupled with a pair of the Lone Star State’s most provocative dramatists: screenwriter JUSTIN COOPER ("Flickgrifter's Union") and GREG ROMERO ("The Shelter"). Directors include THOMAS CARUSO ("Mimi le Duck" starring Eartha Kitt at New World Stages), NYIT Award-winner ISAAC BYRNE ("To Nineveh: A Modern Miracle Play"), STEPHEN BRACKETT ("Bloody Mary" at CSV), MATTHEW HANCOCK ("Dracula" at Urban Stages), STEVEN GILLENWATER ("Oceanside Parkway" at American Place Theatre), DIANA BASMAJIAN ("Play With Faun" at the Fringe), JULIE ROSSMAN (Kimberly Rosenstock’s "Discovering Columbus"), and COLE WIMPEE (Working Man's Clothes’ "The Woodpecker").

FUCKPLAYS was hand-picked by Soho Thinktank Artistic Director Robert Lyons to premiere at the Ohio Theatre on Wednesday, March 28th, where it will play through Sunday, April 1st. The production then transfers to the Galapagos Art Space EVOLVE Series in Williamsburg, where it plays all four Friday nights in April. For Galapagos tickets, go to: www.smarttix.com
