"A smart, lively, and beautifully acted new play that asks us to hear how we hear, in silence as well as in speech…I’ve rarely encountered a cast that finds as many far-reaching shades of meaning in tones of voice as this one does. Every member of the ensemble is spot-on." - Ben Brantley, New York Times (full review)

"There are moments in this play that I don’t think I will ever forget—scenes that tap the beauty that can live and resound in silence." - Adam Feldman, Time Out New York (full review)

Tribes follows Billy, a deaf man raised inside the fiercely idiosyncratic and unrepentantly politically incorrect cocoon of his home of his parents' house. He has adapted brilliantly to his hearing family’s unconventional ways, but they’ve never bothered to return the favor. It’s not until he meets Sylvia, a young woman on the brink of deafness, that he finally understands what it means to be understood.

TRIBES is now selling a very limited amount of VIP PREMIUM seats at and $95.00 (regular) for each performance. Call SmartTix at 646-873-8216 to purchase your VIP PREMIUM seats.
