Duo Theatre presents
Lauri Stallings/gloATL Halo
Thursday, June 10, 2010 through Saturday, June 12, 2010
DMAC presents HALO
Length: 1 hr 00 mins Intermission: None Seating: General Admission You choose your seats when you get to the theater.
Halo is a commission by DMAC. The work reflects gloATL's collective desire to forge in the 360 world through influences of physical mapping with the "inter" human, proximity, and resistance to social formatting. Halo' will re-organize the historic jewel box of the Duo Theatre into an "in the round," shared experience between the artists and public, as it explores the phenomena of reception, invention and interpretation. A non linear work marked by an intense physical discipline and keen sense of humor, Halo's sound score includes the music of Albanini, Verdi, Bostich & Fussible, and Nina Simone. Choreographed by gloATL artist Lauri Stallings with Lighting Design by gloATL frequent collaborator Ryan O'Gara, Halo' runs approximately 60 minutes with no intermission.
Dance@DMAC is curated by Lisa Rinehart and Michelangelo Alasa'. In it’s first season of full length commissions, DMAC has commissioned three choreographers, Sidra Bell, (May 12-15) Lauri Stallings/gloATL (June 10-12, 2010) Keely Garfield (October 28, 29,30 2010) to create site-specific works for DMAC's unique theater space. The choreographers were each paid a commission fee and a full residency at DMAC to create the new work.
