Verdi’s beloved La traviata brings the 30th anniversary season to a close. Based on La dame aux Camélias (1852), a play adapted from the famous 19th century Alexandre Dumas novel, La traviata scandalized its audiences when first performed and now fills opera theatres the world over. Who can forget the star-crossed lovers Violetta and Alfredo as their tragedy unfolds to the lush Verdi score?
