Felix & The Diligence, Or A Play About Fishermen in the 1940's
Friday, September 23, 2011 through Saturday, October 08, 2011
Felix & The Diligence tells the very funny story of how difficult it is to grow up without losing your sense of wonder and joy in the world around you.
Length: 1 hr 50 mins Intermission: Yes Seating: General Admission You choose your seats when you get to the theater.
Felix & The Diligence by Colby Day Directed by Daniel Johnsen Produced by Burton T. Frey Jr.
Remember when you were a young, bookish dreamer, growing up during World War II, just waiting for your big chance to fish for cod? Relive that great adventure, with all the love, loss and bright-eyed optimism that it entailed.
Fall in love with mermaids, chat with sea monsters, and fight Nazi spies during the greatest play about fishermen in the 1940’s you’ll ever see.
Felix & The Diligence Show Advisory: Mature
"One begins to question if this isn’t the most skilled mixture of improv comedy and a straight play around...It makes perfect sense to go out and see the play, well written by Day and well performed by Pipeline’s members, and have a laugh at what makes no sense, but still makes sense." - Elise McMullen Show Business Weekly
"An exciting adventure...The show is an enjoyable ride." - Michael Mraz NYtheatre.com
"Here you have it: hysterical, touching, ridiculous, and rewarding" - CultureFuture
"There's no doubt this is a company of theater artists that are in it for the long haul. Their work is exceptionally fine across the board." - Peter Frechette, Tony-Nominated Actor and former Pipeline Director
Pipeline Theatre Company is a non-profit company started by a group of emerging actors, directors, writers and designers. Pipeline has produced six full–length productions in New York. Our first season featured Timberlake Wertenbaker's Love of the Nightingale, a member-penned world premiere called Sleepless City, and Charles Busch's wacky piece, Psycho Beach Party. Our second season kicked off with another world premiere as a part of Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival, company member Alex Mills' Shakespeare the Dead, followed by Bekah Brunstetter's Fat Kids on Fire, and closing with Brecht's epic play with a new original score, The Caucasian Chalk Circle at Theater for the New City's Johnson Theater, the largest off-off broadway space in New York. Pipeline has also presented many evenings dedicated to new works and award-winning short films.
