An Evening Of Sharing: A Year Gone By
Wednesday, August 26, 2009
Modern dance and a cutting-edge documentary at it's finest
Length: 1 hr 30 mins Intermission: None Seating: General Admission You choose your seats when you get to the theater.
New York City will embrace Mitzi Adams, as she shares her thought-provoking, An Evening of Sharing: A Year Gone By on August 26, at 7:30 p.m., at the Joan Weill Center for Dance at the Ailey Citigroup Theater.
Six dances and a cutting-edge documentary will awaken your spirits, from the intensity of love relationships, to the zany, nonsensical meanderings of life. World-renowned jazz-composer, Maria Schneider, will be paid special tribute, with choreography to two songs off her Grammy award winning CD, Sky Blue. Another special tribute will be paid to Martin Luther King, Jr., in a solo danced by Martha Graham dancer, James Pierce, to the music of John Legend. This touching, seminal piece launches a project for a university dance scholarship and charity drive.
Witness in one performance what Adams has been up to in the past year with her company, Adams Company Dance.
