We are happy to announce the third annual Designer Showhouse of Westchester benefiting Cerebral Palsy of Westchester will take place Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 to Sunday, June 9th, 2013 in Scarsdale, New York. The Showhouse will open with a Gala Preview Cocktail Party on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. All Proceeds will benefit Cerebral Palsy of Westchester, Rye Brook, New York. The Designer Showhouse of Westchester will feature over 25 of America’s top designers and decorative artists who will transform a magnificent 1915 mansion located in Scarsdale, New York into a decorating masterpiece. The Showhouse is located at 2 Cooper Road in Scarsdale, New York.

The great Jewish American playwright, Clifford Odets, wrote in his 1935 introduction to Awake and Sing! - “All of the characters in Awake and Sing! share a fundamental activity: a struggle for life amidst petty conditions.”
Set in the Depression-era Bronx, Awake and Sing! shows us the Berger family's struggles with life, each other, and their hopes and dreams. The play was originally produced by the famed Group Theatre in 1935, starring such acting giants as Stella and Luther Adler, Morris Carnovsky, Jules Garfield, and Sanford Meisner.
Don't miss this revival of this classic American play, directed by Paul Casali of Love Creek's acclaimed productions of Period of Adjustment and In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel.

"From the age of three until the age of six I enjoyed a rather delightful sexual relationship with my father...." so begins Confessions of a Cuban Sex Addict, written and designed by Michelangelo Alasa', a walk through, come to life diary/theatrical installation. Now, Alasa’ shares his personal journey through Confessions, a snapshot of his queer coming-of-age experience during the 1960s. Cathartic in nature, this performative exhibition reminds us of our deepest secrets, darkest longings, and biggest triumphs.

Come aboard and enjoy the first night of the weekend aboard a wooden sailing yacht and sail off to the sunset!

The Ventura sailing experience is both upscale and casual.
Every Friday evening in summer, this beautiful, private sailing yacht welcomes individuals, couples, or small groups aboard, by reservation only, for a unique cruise in New York Harbor. (On weeknights and Saturday nights, Ventura hosts private and corporate events.) Friday sunset guests are permitted to byo wines, picnic snacks, etc -- no hard liquor allowed -- or self serve from the ship's bar. Background music compliments the engine-free sounds of wind and waves aboard this true wooden ship.
Commissioned in 1919, she first started sailing in New York waters in 1922. Her original appointments feature varnished teak decks, mahogany cabins and gleaming brass oil lamps. On public sailing trips, guests can buy from 1 to 35 seats (total capacity) on regularly scheduled Friday evening sunset sails to the Statue of Liberty.

Friday nights are most popular with people looking to relax after work, enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Not a booze cruise. Guests are individuals, some on dates, and even a mini b-day party with a group of friends.
You are welcome to byo wines, snacks -- no corkage fees or related b.s. Unique to New York, on Friday evening the Ventura offers her guests a unique, self-serve, keep your own tab beer/ale (awesome selection of micros!) and wine bar. Very handy in case you're running late or don't want to schlep.
Sails are very popular and often sold out. If you are bringing a group, it is best to reserve early. On the week of the sail, you can usually get small numbers of tickets (singles, two/three/four) as late as mid week. If the boat is sold out, you can stand by. Space available means welcome aboard! And it is a very nice place to hang out even if you do not get a seat aboard.

Play or Be Played mirrors the life of a young Christian woman who travels from the Caribbean to the USA to reunite with her fiancé in the hope of a better life. Reality strikes when she discovers her fiancé is in fact living in squalor and that the stories she has been told about America being a “land of milk and honey” is untrue.
The fear of abandonment, homelessness and deportation threatens her loyalty to her fiancé, and she spirals into a life of frivolous sexual escapades.

Set in the Early 1930's, this production of Romeo and Juliet will explore that question to the fullest. It will look at love between men and women, parents and children, spouses, friends and lovers. It will examine love’s flaws and its beauties and investigate how love must be active, not passive, if one wishes to overcome hatred and bias.
