Ventura's Friday night sunset sail is an upscale yet casual experience. For many New Yorkers, this mini-cruise -- under sail power! -- is a beloved and refreshing way to close out the work week.
Click here for a short clip of sailing on the Ventura!

Every Friday evening in summer, this beautiful, private sailing yacht welcomes individuals, couples, and networking groups aboard for a unique cruise in New York Harbor. Friday sunset guests are permitted to byo wines, picnic snacks, etc -- no hard liquor allowed -- or self serve from the ship's honor bar. Background music compliments the engine-free sounds of wind and waves aboard this classic, true wooden ship.

It is a romantic, mellow, and upbeat experience. The gold standard of New York harbor sailing cruises.
RAIN POLICY: If the sail is cancelled due to weather, ticket holders will be refunded for the price of their ticket. Smarttix retains their ticket service fee. If the sail is cancelled, Smarttix will email ticket holders no later than 4:30 PM on the day of the sail (if not earlier.) In case it starts to rain during the sail, all Ventura guests are welcome to enjoy the boat's beautiful mahogany cabins below. They are also issued emergency rain gear. (And you can take the rain gear home.) Happily,on those very few occasions when all are below decks during rain, a bottle of fine Caribbean rum just happens to appear, and offered on the house! Yo ho ho to the very best rain policy on the water!

WHO'S ABOARD? Friday nights are mostly native New Yorkers looking to relax after work, enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Not a booze cruise. Guests are individuals, some on dates, sometimes even a mini b-day party with a group of friends. Somehow, the occasional Norwegians, Brits, Japanese and Australians (no surprise there, big sailors, those Aussies) find their way aboard on a Friday.

When it debuted, THE EFFECT took London by storm, winning BEST NEW PLAY from the UK Critics Circle. Now, award-winning director David Cromer (OUR TOWN, TRIBES) helms a new American production of this exhilarating play in the first collaboration between THE NATIONAL THEATRE, JEAN DOUMANIAN PRODUCTIONS and BARROW STREET THEATRE.

Hearts racing. Minds reeling. Knees buckling. Connie and Tristan have palpable chemistry—or is it a side effect of a new super-antidepressant? They are volunteers in a clinical trial, but their sudden and illicit romance forces the supervising doctors to face off over the ethical consequences of their work.

From Lucy Prebble, “one of the UKs hottest new playwrights” (The Telegraph), THE EFFECT takes on our pill-popping culture with humor and scintillating drama.
