The Storm Theatre
City: New York

Additional Notes:
The Storm Theatre and Blackfriars Repertory Theatre present “Divine Comedy,” two heavenly one-act comedies directed by Storm Artistic Director Peter Dobbins. The show features “Saint Felix and His Potatoes,” by Henri Brochet, a play about an attempted robbery, followed by “The Coach of The Holy Sacrament,” by Prosper Mérimée, the comic, but true tale of the conflicted romance between an elderly Spanish Viceroy and a young actress in late 18th century Peru.

Each play explores the concept of grace and how Gods love works through even the least deserving of characters. As from time to time, we can all be the least deserving of characters, these plays remind us of the great drama of salvation in which we all have a part.

***Special Evening: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1st. Join The Storm Theatre family on Saturday, Oct. 1st for a POST-SHOW PARTY with COMPLIMENTARY WINE & BEER. The event is FREE for all attending the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets available on SmartTix, and for event details, please visit www.stormtheatre.com.

Additional Notes:
THE FOLK SINGER tells a story of a young musician who wants to write songs as relevant today as those of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez were in their heyday. Working with like-minded local musicians, he and the others compose new songs and stage a folk festival? for the 21st century, with the hope of reaching a wider audience through social media. “I wrote the book and lyrics to THE FOLK SINGER in order to create a character-based work for the theater that would comment on todays times,” explains Tom Attea. “I believe that?, given the severity of the problems in America and around the world, new folk songs would be expected to have a greater presence than they do. The centerpiece of the show, ?A Folk Festival for Today, ?provided ?the occasion ??to write lyrics with contemporary substance.” Set design is by Mark Marcante, with lighting design by Alexander Bartienieff, sound design by Alex Santullo,? and prop design is by Lytza Colon. Danielle Hauser is the assistant director.? The performance schedule for THE FOLK SINGER is as follows: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm with matinees on Sundays at 3pm. Tom Attea (book and lyrics) has written thirteen other produced shows, beginning with Brief Chronicles of the Time, which was presented as a showcase by The Actors Studio, where he was a member of The Playwrights Unit for 10 years. Since then, he has written the book and lyrics for ten musicals and two plays that have been presented by Theater for the New City. Tom received a TNC/Jerome Foundation emerging playwright grant and is a member of The Dramatists Guild. Arthur Abrams (composer) began his frequent collaboration with Tom Attea at The Actors Studio, while working with director Charles Friedman on the revue Brief Chronicles of the Time.? His last two collaborations with Tom were the musicals An American Worker and Heather Smiley for President. A ballet score by Abrams, The Velveteen Rabbit, was given its first performance in July of 2016, at the Ha

When Yellow Were The Stars On Earth

Amidst the atrocities of World War II, two women cross enemy lines to make the ultimate heroic sacrifice.

Venue: ( Hudson Guild Theatre)
Hudson Guild Theatre
Producer: ( Robert Williams)
Robert Williams
City: New York

Additional Notes:
One night in Berlin, 1943, during an SS raid, a German Cabaret singer opens her door to save a Jewish Resistance fighter. As the hours unfold, destiny winds their lives more tightly together until there is no turning back. When Yellow Were the Stars on Earth tells a story of two rarely written about realities: Jewish female fighters and Germans who died refusing to be part of Nazi machinery. The tragedy of the Holocaust is written in indelible ink on our past. It has left a deep scar on our history and is profoundly connected to another subject that has little been dealt with; the considerable number of people who died opposing the horrors of the Nazism. Most of them are not remembered as heroes and their stories have been swallowed by time. When Yellow Were the Stars on Earth was written out of a personal wish to create an imaginary place in time and space where, for once, a German Jewish woman (Miriam) and an Aryan German woman (Klara) could meet, look at each other beyond the tragedies that linked them during World War II, and express the primal love that is common to all souls.
